Exciting update on class size legislation! And please sign up for our May 22 Conference

May 10, 2021

Exciting news to report! The bill S. 6296 to require NYC to renew its commitment to lowering class size has 10 co-sponsors in the NY State Senate, and a “same as” bill has now been introduced in the Assembly by AM Jo Anne Simon, A. 7447.

Please send letters to your legislators today, by clicking here! It is critical that we build support for this bill.

Also, don’t forget to sign up for our May 22 Parent Action Conference so you can provide your input on how the $8 billion in additional state and federal funds for our schools will be spent. Rep. Jamaal Bowman will provide a keynote address, and then we will elicit and discuss the priorities and ideas of the participants. A short five-minute survey to help structure our discussions is posted here.

But first things first — please send your letters to your legislators now! If we all work together, we can get this done. Please also forward this message to others who care.

Much thanks as ever for your support, Leonie
