Please speak at this week’s Zoom hearings on class size!

June 9, 2025

The mandated hearings on the city’s class size plan for the 2025-2026 school year begin tomorrow.  The Bronx hearing already occurred last week, but you can attend any of these meetings wherever you live, teach or your child attends schools. They each begin at 6 PM, but you can log in as early as 5 PM to sign up to speak here.

  • Manhattan – Tuesday, June 10th – 6:00pm EST
  • Staten Island – Wednesday, June 11th – 6:00pm EST
  • Queens – Thursday, June 12th – 6:00pm EST
  • Brooklyn – Monday, June 16th – 6:00pm EST

There are also opportunities for the public to speak out on this issue at upcoming CEC meetings, with more information here.

We have suggested talking points here, but feel free to add any relevant details about the class sizes at your school, or why this issue is important to you.

More information about the multiple failures so far of the city to provide an adequate class size plan that will provide smaller classes to all the students who need them can be found in the presentation we gave at our Parent Action Conference on Saturday, here and below. If you’re willing to speak at either the borough hearings or at your CEC meeting on behalf of Class Size Matters, or if you have any questions, feel free to email us at info@classsizematters.org Thanks!
