Take five minutes to push for smaller classes in NYC schools! And news of our rally

June 12, 2019

We had a very successful rally yesterday for class size reduction – thanks to all of you who came!

There were 100+ parents, kids, advocates and union members who filled the steps of City Hall with signs, as well as Manhattan BP Gale Brewer and six Council Members. Many spoke about the urgency and importance of the city funding smaller classes for NYC kids – and that there are no excuses for the failure to do so.

There are links to some of the news coverage on the blog along with our press release, and lots more photos on our FB page here.

Whether you were able to attend the rally or not, please call the Speaker Corey Johnson and your Council member today to tell them to fight for dedicated funding for class size in next year’s budget.

It should take less than five minutes!

Speaker Corey Johnson at 212-788-7210;

Script for your Council Member (their phone numbers are here):

I’m a constituent and I’d like him/her to push for dedicated funding for class size reduction in next year’s city budget.

Thanks Leonie
