A youth advocate writes to Betty Rosa about the value of smaller classes
December 27,2023
Dear all —
I hope you are having a restful and rewarding break during the holidays. We here at Class Size Matters wanted to share with you an eloquent letter written by youth advocate Al Kurland to NY Education Commissioner Rosa, urging her to demand a real class size plan from DOE, while explaining how small classes “can provide a turning point in a student’s belief in themselves as learners in the development of becoming better informed and confident people.”
Take a look and if you agree, please donate to Class Size Matters to help us make this turning point a reality for all NYC students.
Here’s for a peaceful and productive New Year,
Leonie Haimson
