The deadline to submit your views on Mayoral control is tomorrow, Wed. January 31, at 5 PM. You can upload your testimony here. The borough hearings were very well attended, with the overwhelming number of parents, teachers and community members who spoke vehemently opposed to the continuation of mayoral control. You can see videos of their comments here; my rather lengthy written testimony challenging the myths surrounding mayoral control is posted here and embedded below.
Feel free to echo or amplify any of the points made in my submission, and if you can, please mention the refusal of the last three mayors to lower class size, despite the need for this critical reform.
