1. Please come to our annual “Skinny award” dinner on Wed. June 18, at 6:30 PM. This year we will be honoring NY Education Commissioner Dr. Betty Rosa, who has provided strong and progressive leadership for the New York State’s education system for the last four years, and before that decades of achievement as a ESL teacher, Bronx principal, district Superintendent, and Board of Regents member. Most recently, she led the national battle to preserve and protect our schools’ diversity initiatives against the Trump attempt to destroy them.
This evening is always one of the most joyful and celebratory events of the year, and I’m sure this year will be no different. Wine and food will be served.
