Final Reminder: City Council Hearings on Class Size Tomorrow!
Final Reminder: Please come to the City Council hearings tomorrow, Friday Feb. 28 starting at 10 AM at the Committee Room at City Hall on the need to lower class size in city schools; a flyer is here, and a new FAQ is here.
Even if you don’t choose to testify, please come to show your support.
Also, I have an oped just published at Gotham Gazette here, showing how parents, educators, and the research all agree that smaller class sizes are critical in order to give students their best chance at success.
And yet here in NYC, class sizes are on average 15-30% larger than in the rest of the state. This is unfair to students and teachers, and a deeply inequitable flaw in our school system.
Hope to see you tomorrow, and thanks for your support,
Leonie
