On the inadequacies of the city’s planning for class size as regards space

Today the NYC Council Finance and Education Committees held a hearing on the NYC education budget and the five-year capital plan. There was questioning on class size as well as many other issues. Lots of students spoke eloquently on the need for mental health services, better food and restorative justice. Our testimony on the city’s failure to produce a multi-year plan that includes sufficient space — as required by the class size law — is here and below.
