2005 NY City Council Class Size Press Release
The following document is from the 2005 press release of City Council Speaker Gifford Miller, Council Member Robert Jackson (plaintiff in CFE lawsuit), New York State Senate Deputy Minority Leader Eric T. Schneiderman and education advocates, held at City Hall. The press release calls on State Comptroller Alan Hevesi to audit Department of Education (DOE) data on class sizes in New York City public schools. This movement was led by Leonie Haimson after asking the IBO to launch an analysis of 2003-2004 class sizes.
